Aibou TV Season 5 Episode 7 - Kensei (God of the Sword)(剣聖)
Subtitle: Kensei (God of the Sword)(剣聖)
Genichirō Azuma(吾妻 源一郎), a former Japanese kendo champion, is found dead in his own dojo, apparently killed by a blow from a sword. His friend and a fellow kendo expert Masato Seki(関 正人) is apprehended in his house wearing kendo uniform covered in blood. During interrogation, he says that he killed Master Azuma during their duel. He even presents a contract they signed with a bloody thumb in which they state that no one should be blamed if either or both should fall during the duel. It looks like an open and shut case, but as usual, Inspector Ukyō notices minor inconsistencies with that scenario. Who killed the kendo master?
Characters appearing/mentioned in the story
Fumi Katsuragi(桂木 ふみ) - Assistant director at Azuma Shin Sei-kan(吾妻心聖館). Once a week on Sundays she teaches kendo to children outside the dojo and so does not visit the dojo on that day. Her best technique is a type of forearm strike.
When she was a minor, she ran away from home many times and was arrested multiple times for causing injuries and other offenses.
She tells Inspector Ukyō that the Japanese swords were the only things missing or out of place from the dojo.
Tadanori Katsuragi(桂木 忠則) - Instructor Fumi's father who asked Genichirō Azuma(吾妻 源一郎) to teach her kendo and straighten his daughter out after she caused caused so much trouble when she was younger. He is the security director(警備局長 keibi kyokuchō) at the National Police Agency(警察庁 Keisatsuchō).
Genichirō Azuma(吾妻 源一郎) - Head instructor at Azuma Shin Sei-kan(吾妻心聖館). He is the former Japanese kendo champion who had been called the modern samurai.
He loved drinking sake with Master Seki, the only fun he had in life, according to his son Shunichi. While drunk, they would pull off crazy stunts like drawing a copy of "Shrike Perched in a Dead Tree (枯木鳴鵙図 Karekimeigekizu)" by Musashi Miyamoto.
Sergeant Itami looked up to Master Azuma. He taught Sergeant Itami that only an idiot will jump into a battle he is destined to lose. It is better to quietly retreat in those situations. He suspects Instructor Fumi because he feels Master Seki was past his prime, and the sergeant was not able to beat Instructor Fumi.
Master Azuma was murdered with a Japanese sword. The sword he was holding had crossed swords at least six times. Oddly, he hadn't prepared a will to prepare for the case he died from the duel.
His wife had passed away years ago, and he apparently had a relationship with Miss Fumi.
Shunichi Azuma(吾妻 俊一) - Master Azuma's son who suffers from asthma. An only child who does office work for his father's dojo. Unlike his strong father, he was much more mild-mannered. He refused to go to school when he was younger. He never went to high school and dropped out after one month. Some time later, Shunichi went to an interview for a part time job, but a policeman had to help him get home later, saying that he found Shunichi crouching in the middle of an intersection.
Masato Seki(関 正人) - Master Azuma's friend. He is a 7th rank kendō master and a honorary adviser for Azuma Shin Sei-kan(吾妻心聖館). He was wearing a bloody uniform in his house when the police came to the door. He claims that he wanted to die in an honorable duel against Master Azuma rather than die on a hospital bed, but somehow ended up killing the champion instead. Sergeant Itami, however, doesn't think Master Seki, perhaps because of his old age, would have been strong enough to beat let alone kill Master Azuma.
Isamu Mochizuki(望月 勇) - Employee at the sports goods maker HAL Sports (株式会社ハルスポーツ Kabushikigaisha harusupōtsu) who recently started teaching at Master Azuma's dojo, Azuma Shin Sei-kan(吾妻心聖館). HAL Sports was scheduled to buy Mater Azuma's dojo including the house, then build company related facilities on the dojo grounds. They planned to keep the dojo name, but rebuild a much smaller dojo on the site. Everyone currently at the dojo would have worked as HAL Sports company employees. Although all the instructors at the dojo knew about the sale, not everyone was happy about it. About ten days ago, he overheard Instructor Fumi arguing with Master Azuma about the fate of the dojo.
The "contract" written before the duel
Warera shinken o motte(我等真剣を以って) - We both hold Japanese swords and
Tachiai sōrō-sue(立ち会い候末) - face each other. Afterwards,

Kakitsuke o motte yakushi sōrōmononari(書付を以って約し候者也) - We had promised as written here.
Masato Seki(関 正人)
Genichirō Azuma(吾妻 源一郎)
Trivia
This is the first time Sergeant Itami visits Hana No Sato. He goes there to unofficially ask the Tokumeigakari pair to look into Master Azuma's murder because Superintendent Uchimura gave orders not to investigate this case further.

Aibou TV Season 5 Episode 6 - Tsukinashi (wordplay to mean out of luck and no moon) (ツキナシ)
Subtitle: Tsukinashi (wordplay to mean out of luck and no moon) (ツキナシ)
Kunihiko Miyazawa(宮澤 邦彦), who manages a first class architectural firm, is murdered in his own home while his wife is taking a shower. Shūichi Kitanoguchi(北之口 秀一), a Naoki Prize winning author, is the primary suspect, but all the evidence is circumstantial. Did Kitanoguchi kill Miyazawa?
Characters appearing/mentioned in the story
Shūichi Kitanoguchi(北之口 秀一) - 40 year old Naoki Prize winning author who recently wrote The murmur of Altair(アルタイルの呟き Arutairu no Tsubuyaki). His other works include Shrieking/Wailing Forest(慟哭の森 Dōkoku No Mori), Garden of Purple(紫の園 Murasaki No Sono), Red Season, A Black Dream and A White Reality(黒い夢と白い現実 Kuroi Yume to Shiroi Genjitsu), Coral in Love(恋する珊瑚 Koisuru Sango), Friendly Kidnapping(やさしい誘拐 Yasashī yūkai).
His fingerprints were found inside the Miyazawa household and his shoe-prints were found outside. Neighbors saw him wandering around the house. Three days after the murder, he voluntarily submits himself to questioning, where he denies killing Mr. Miyazawa. He then reiterates his innocence on live TV.
Saori Nagata(永田 沙織) later turns in a photograph which provides the author an alibi, but there is a problem. The clock in the picture reads 10:57, and the author claims that he was walking to a vending machine to buy a package of cigarettes, a second pen for him. However, the closest tobacco vending machine ceases to operate after 11:00 and it would take 10 minutes to get to that vending machine. Kitanoguchi then says that he must have bought the cigarettes from a convenience store. The Tokumeigakari pair later check the convenience store's surveillance cameras and find out that Kitanoguchi did not appear in the recording taken at that time. What's worse, the moon that day rose at 9:50 AM and moved out of the sky by 7:08 PM. Oddly enough, the picture included a window reflecting light from the moon, which is impossible.
Saori Nagata(永田 沙織) - Professional photographer of commercial goods who takes pictures of the night sky as a hobby. She drops by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department building to turn in a photograph showing Shūichi Kitanoguchi(北之口 秀一) at a location far away from the Miyazawa household at the time of the murder. On that night, the Tokyo Tower was lit up light blue to commemorate a public release of a movie, as was the Tokyo Tower in the picture.
She is supposedly Shūichi Kitanoguchi(北之口 秀一)'s fan and has many of his novels in her apartment, but all of them were printed recently - none of them were original printings. She starts smoking again (she was trying to quit) when the Tokumeigakari pair points out that she must have faked the photograph she submitted to the police.
Miyazawa(宮澤) - Kunihiko's wife who knows Kitanoguchi from a nearby gym. Kitanoguchi drove her home from the gym from time to time, including the day when her husband was killed. On that day, Kitanoguchi came into the house and started making unwanted advances, so she told him to leave her house, running into another room in the house and closing its doors.
Kunihiko Miyazawa(宮澤 邦彦) - Manager of a first class architectural firm who was murdered in his own home. He died between 10:55 PM and 11:15 PM
Kōichi Nagara(長柄 孝一) - Main character in Shūichi Kitanoguchi(北之口 秀一)'s novel Garden of Purple(紫の園 Murasaki No Sono). According to Inspector Ukyō, Nagara "sinks into the lake of narcissism along with his lover's coffin" at the end of that novel.

Aibou TV Season 5 Episode 5 - The Vengeful Murder Against the Devil(悪魔への復讐殺人)
Subtitle: The Vengeful Murder Against the Devil(悪魔への復讐殺人)
An year ago, Naotarō Anzai(安斉 直太郎) was Dr. Uchida's assistant who secretly continued the serial murders started by Shigeo Murai(村木 重雄) and was caught by the Tokumeigakari pair. He is now involuntarily hospitalized at Kantō Medical University(関東医科大学), but he was to be released from the hospital soon. To prepare him for his return to society, he was taking a practice walk outside the hospital walls with the attending nurse when he was attacked and murdered. Who killed Anzai and why?
Dates and location of the murders
11/18/2001 Fukuoka Prefecture(福岡 Fukuoka), Iizuka City(飯塚市 Ītsukashi) - a city located at the confluence of the Honami and Onga rivers in central Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, death by drowning(溺死 dekishi)

2005 Saitama Prefecture(埼玉 Saitama), Kawaguchi City(川口市 Kawaguchi-shi) - fatal stabbing(刺殺 shisatsu)
Characters appearing/mentioned in the story
Misaki Uchida(内田 美咲) - Psychiatrist whose specialty is in criminal psychology. She worked with the Tokumeigakari pair in a previous episode to track down a serial killer, Naotarō Anzai(安斉 直太郎), who also happened to be her assistant at the time,
After that incident, she started treating a parent of one of the victims, Asao Suetsugu(末次 朝雄). She voluntarily submitted information about Mr. Suetsugu's treatment sessions to the doctor deciding whether Mr. Suetsugu should stand trial. She also guesses that doctors probably decided to release Naotarō Anzai(安斉 直太郎) back to the society because Anzai was a model patient who never caused problems during his involuntarily hospitalization and also because no one can honestly predict whether someone will commit a crime. She also had been told that Anzai was scheduled to take practice walks outside the hospital.
Naotarō Anzai(安斉 直太郎) - The serial killer from a previous episode with victims in Fukuoka, Kyoto, and Tokyo/Saitama. He was Dr. Uchida's former assistant and a graduate student at a medical university, but was locked away in a psychiatric ward after his arrest. While there, he went through psychiatric evaluation and was determined mentally unfit to stand trial. As a result, the prosecutor decided not to press charges. After outrage from the surviving family members and the public, the prosecutor decided to have Anzai hospitalized for another evaluation, and as a result, Anzai was involuntarily hospitalized. Recently, a newspaper somehow discovered that Anzai was considered for release back into the public. Anzai is killed at the start of the episode while he was taking a walk outside as a part of the training to go back into society.
Maho Horikiri(堀切 真帆) - The nurse who was with Naotarō Anzai(安斉 直太郎) when he was killed. She accompanied Anzai on these walks because she was scheduled to health visit Anzai after he was released from the hospital. She claims that she was pushed from behind and didn't see the attacker's face.
Her family home is in Kyoto, and while she was still working there, she health visited Yurie Maki(牧 百合江).
Asao Suetsugu(末次 朝雄) - Father of the victim from Fukuoka. After Naotarō Anzai(安斉 直太郎) is killed, he walks into the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department building and claims that he killed Anzai. Once inside the interrogation room, he acts as if he were completely insane. Dr. Misaki Uchida(内田 美咲) had been treating him after Anzai's arrest. During those sessions, he asked the doctor if she could tell him everything she knew about Naotarō Anzai(安斉 直太郎).
Yurie Maki(牧 百合江) - Mother of the victim from Kyoto. After hearing that Naotarō Anzai(安斉 直太郎) won't be tried in the court of law, she tried to commit suicide as a sign of protest but was discovered soon afterwards and survived.
Shigeo Murai(村木重雄) - Original serial murderer who appears in a flashback scene.
Osamu Hidaka(日高 修) - Father of the victim from Tokyo. After hearing that Naotarō Anzai(安斉 直太郎) won't be tried in the court of law, he and his wife held a press conference to express their disbelief and anguish.
Noriko Hidaka(日高 紀子) - Mother of the victim from Tokyo.
Kazuma Inoue(井上 一馬) - Medical expert at Kantō Medical University(関東医科大学) who made the decision that Asao Suetsugu(末次 朝雄) was unfit to stand trial for the murder of Naotarō Anzai(安斉 直太郎). Although he didn't reveal the specific evaluation he made for Mr. Suetsugu since the Tokumeigakari pair visited without a warrant, he did explain the general procedure all doctors go through when evaluating a patient for pre-trial cases. According to him, the doctor making the evaluation would look at
- The patient's face and eyes
- The patient's hospital and doctor visitation records
- The patient's hospitalization records
- The patient's unusual experiences
- The patient's intention to commit suicide
- The patient's non-social tendencies
- The patient's tendency to commit violence to other people
Out of these, the doctor making the evaluation will take a close look at unusual experiences and treatment records by a doctor. Having a daughter murdered is considered an unusual experience.
Hirai(平井) - A doctor who works at Kyoto Rakusei Hospital(京都洛西病院 Kyōto rakusei byōin). His name was called over the intercom while the Tokumeigakari pair were visiting the hospital.

Aibou TV Season 5 Episode 4 - Senmitsu(せんみつ)
Subtitle: Senmitsu(せんみつ)
Senmitsu(thousand three in Japanese) means a habitual liar - only three out of a thousand things a senmitsu says are true. Sōji Makihara(槇原 惣司) is a small time burglar and a veteran liar. He came to Tokyo from the same area of Japan as Lieutenant Shinsuke Miura(三浦 信輔) who has unsuccessfully tried to set him on the right path.
When Makihara is caught this time, he oddly admits to the crime - he says that he broke into a summerhouse. Knowing Makihara's propensity to lie, Lieutenant Miura is suspicious and to find out why, he enlists help from the Tokumeigakari pair. They go down to the Shokatsu to question Makihara, who comes up with reasonable answers to every question. Inspector Ukyō, sharp as ever, realizes that Makihara is including a few lies in his answers. Why is this habitual liar suddenly telling (mostly) truths?
1.2 billion yen(12億円 12 Oku-en) worth of jewelry is stolen from a jewelry store in Ginza(銀座) at the start of this story.
Characters appearing/mentioned in the story
Sōji Makihara(槇原 惣司) - Seasoned burglar and a veteran liar. He and Lieutenant Shinsuke Miura(三浦 信輔) grew up in the same poor town in Gifu(岐阜) prefecture. He once told the Lieutenant that he is going to earn one hundred million yen(一億円 Ichiokuen), go back home, and dig a hot spring to attract tourists to the town.
He broke in to a villa in Okutama(奥多摩) around 2:05 AM and was arrested around 2:20 AM last night(11/7) for breaking in and entering, and attempted robbery. For some reason, he accepted all responsibilities for his crime. After arriving at the Shokatsu's interrogation room, Inspector Ukyō questions Makihara.
Inspector Ukyō first asks why Makihara broke into a villa, to which he answers that he thought that during the off-season, the chance of running into people in the house are small and the likelihood that the crime won't go noticed for a while also very good. The inspector then wonders, although the owners are less likely to be there during the off-season, it's also unlikely that they would leave items of great value in the villas while they're not there. Makihara then reveals that one of his former cellmates Uematsu(上松) found a large amount of cash, most likely money hidden from the government, in a villa Uematsu broke into. Makihara was hoping to repeat Uematsu's success. Inspector Ukyō then says that the government is likely to check the villa for any assets as well, to which Makihara replies that the villa must have been registered under someone else's name so that the government won't check it for hidden assets.
Next, Inspector Ukyō asked why Makihara chose that particular villa out of the many in the area to break into. Makihara then reveals that he went to a small Shinto shrine near his house, Tsurukawa inari(鶴川稲荷), and the paper fortune he pulled there revealed that his lucky numbers were 2 and 8. Makihara broke into that particular villa since the house number read 28.
When Inspector Ukyō tells Makihara that it feels like Makihara was deliberately trying to be arrested and go to jail, Makihara says that after being caught, he decided that it would be better off if he were in jail, since he hadn't successfully stolen much recently. Once he is jailed, he would be fed 3 square meals which he believed was better off than becoming homeless. However, Inspector Ukyō tells Makihara that since he is a repeat offender, he most likely will have to stay in jail for 3 to 5 years. Since Makihara is a professional thief, he should have known that.
Before Inspector Ukyo started questioning him, he kept on asking if he could call his lover since she was pregnant with their child. However, the police who checked determined that she is not pregnant.
Yoshihiro Ōno(大野義弘) - Owner of the villa Sōji Makihara(槇原 惣司) broke into. His house is protected by the Okutama Guard Security Company(奥多摩警備保障 Okutama keibi hoshō).
Uematsu(上松) - Fellow inmate Sōji Makihara(槇原 惣司) supposedly met while he was incarcerated in Kosuge(小菅). He told Makihara a story about finding some illegal/hidden money of approximately 5 million yen(5千万円 5 Sen man-en) in cash in a villa during the off season.
Mitsuko Shinoda(篠田 美津子) - Proprietress of the bar Chateau(シャトー Shatō) who has a history with Sōji Makihara(槇原 惣司). They're not married nor do they live together. Makihara called her numerous time in the 15 minutes between 2:05 to 2:20 AM on 11/7, the morning when he broke into the villa.
Yukio Motowaki(本脇 幸生) - 37 year old man whose badly beaten body was found in the industrial waste field. He worked at Hiramori brewery (平森酒造 Hiramori shuzō), but was fired half an year ago due to bad behavior. He was identified as one of the men who stole the 1.2 billion yen(12億円 12 Oku-en) worth of jewelry.
Locations
Tea Room Aunties(アンティーズ Antīzu) - Cafe where Miwako waited for Sergeant Kaoru this episode. Miwako used to eat here and also borrow the fax machine and the restroom. The store closes at 9 PM. During the off-season, truck drivers stop by while taking a break.
nameless industrial waste field(産廃場 sanpai-jō) - This place became famous for illegally dumping industrial waste and was shut down. Since then, almost no one comes to this place. Miwako and Sergeant Kaoru come here to look for anything out of the ordinary. Miwako finds the body of a badly beaten man about 20-30 years of age who died from a skull fracture. The man was killed around 36 hours before he was discovered, making his time of death around 1AM on the 7th of the month. Hair and DNA samples taken from this site matched samples taken from the jewelry heist presented at the beginning of the episode.
Hiramori shuzō(平森酒造) - Hiramori brewery, famous for their whiskey. Truck drivers from the brewery visit the Tea Room Aunties from time to time. They built a new warehouse last year where they're keeping barrels of whiskey. These barrels are scheduled to be sold to buyers/investors, and will be ready for consumption in 2011, five years later. (This episode originally aired and the story supposed to take place in 2006.) Almost no one will be entering the warehouse during that time. The brewery just started accepting reservations for the most recent batch of barrels. They also have another warehouse adjacent to this one where they keep several dozen expensive (worth one million yen(100万円 hyaku-man en)) imported vintage wine bottles.

Aibou TV Season 5 Episode 3 - The Culprit is Suzuki(犯人はスズキ)
Subtitle: The Culprit is Suzuki(犯人はスズキ)
Ms. Tamaki is buying tofu at Mr. Ibuse's tofu store when his wife Setsuko rushes back from her daily walk and blurts out that she found local resident Mr. Shirasaka bludgeoned to death on the grounds of a Shinto shrine. Ms. Tamaki calls and reports this murder to Inspector Ukyō, and the Tokumeigakari pair start to investigate. Initial clues point to a man named Mr. Suzuki who was seen arguing with Mr. Shirasaka the night the victim was murdered. However, Mr. Suzuki is extremely hard to track down for some reason. Can the Tokumeigakari pair track down the elusive man and solve this case?
Several of the neighborhood's homes had been burglarized recently.
Characters appearing/mentioned in the story
Shōichi Ikenohata(池之端 庄一) - Town chairman. He couldn't find the neighborhood association contacts list with Suzuki's contact information.
Momoyo Ikenohata(池之端 桃代) - Mr. Ikenohata's daughter who was murdered 24 years ago in September 1982. The statute of limitations for her murder case expired nine years ago.
Tatsuya Dōmoto(堂本 達也) - Mr. Suzuki's fishing buddy and a member of the local crime watch who worked at a nearby police box until he retired five years ago. He explains to the Tokumeigakari pair that the adults in the neighborhood take turns and patrol the area. The local children have been taught to use the crime prevention buzzer to attract attention if any stranger talks to them.
Even though Mr. Dōmoto is Mr. Suzuki's fishing buddy, he can't remember where Mr. Suzuki lived. Mr. Dōmoto lives in 3-Chōme(3丁目), and Mr. Suzuki lives in 2-Chōme(2丁目). Mr. Dōmoto had Mr. Suzuki's address saved on a cellphone but damaged it with water when he was mountain stream fishing.
Katsu Ibuse(井伏 勝) - Owner of Ibuse tofu shop(井伏豆腐店 Ibuse tōfu-ten). He claims to have seen Mr. Suzuki quarreling with Mr. Shirasaka the night he was murdered. Later, he calls Inspector Ukyō over when Mr. Suzuki calls his tofu shop. Mr. Suzuki confesses that he killed Mr. Shirasaka and says that he is committing suicide to atone for his actions.
Setsuko Ibuse(井伏 節子) - Mr. Ibuse's wife, She was the first person to find Mr. Shirasaka's body
Suzuki(鈴木) - A member of the neighborhood watch according to Mr. Ibuse. He moved to the neighborhood about a month ago, but no one seems to have his contact information nor recall his address. The Yanase City town council Ward office had a notebook with Mr. Suzuki's contact information, but someone apparently took it and never brought it back. Interestingly, everyone who knows him are people who have lived in the neighborhood for many years.
On the night Mr. Shirasaka was murdered, he was a first time customer at Hana no Sato who entered the restaurant shortly before it closed. While drinking cold sake there, someone called him on the cellphone, and during the private conversation, he mentioned that he was Suzuki. She described him as a man around 40 years of age.
Takeshi Tamiya(田宮 剛史) - Teahouse owner.
Shizue Tamiya(田宮 志津江) - Mr. Tamiya's wife. She spoke to Mr. Suzuki the night Mr. Shirasaka was murdered around 11 PM when she ran into him on her way back from her grandchild's home. She asked Mr. Suzuki where he was going, and he answered that he was going to have a drink and walked into Hana no Sato. She says that Mr. Suzuki was a reticent man who didn't share much about himself when he attended the neighborhood association meetings.
Eiji Shirasaka(白坂 英治) - The murdered man who died after being hit on the head multiple times between 8 PM and 11 PM. He was seen quarreling with Mr. Suzuki around 10 PM.
He was a long-time resident of the town and a member of the neighborhood association for over 30 years. He had worked at the ward office for many years before retiring. He was a serious man who didn't drink nor smoke.
For some reason, he had items with pictures from Magical Lily(マジカルリリィ Majikaruriryi), a popular anime series from 22 years ago, One item of interest was the transformation stick used earlier in the series. In the anime series, that original stick was broken by the villainess of the show, and Lily got a new transformation stick. For this reason, the original stick was produced and sold for only a limited amount of time.
Ikuo Ejima(江島 郁夫) - The man who called himself Suzuki when he ate at Hana no Sato. In actuality, he is a 47 year old factory worker who lives in Shinjuku(新宿). He was arrested three months ago for breaking in and stealing items from homes while the residents were out. The homes he targeted includes homes in Yanase City(柳瀬町 Yanasechō), where Eiji Shirasaka(白坂 英治) lived. For some odd reason, he hasn't been prosecuted for these cases.
CSI Yonezawa find Mr. Ejima's real identity and address using fingerprints he left on a stick of chewing gum from the grocery store where the security camera had recorded him. When the Sōichi make their way to his residence, they find that he had committed suicide by hanging himself a short time ago.
Akane Isomura(磯村 茜) - Sergeant Kaoru's elder sister who is only mentioned in Sergeant Kaoru's conversations in this episode. For some reason, Eiji Shirasaka(白坂 英治) had several items with the picture of a popular anime character from years ago, including a key chain. Sergeant Kaoru recognized the character because his elder sister Akane was also a fan of the series around 30 years ago. It turns out that Miwako was also a fan of the series, and she remembers the character's name - Magical Lily(マジカルリリィ Majikaruriryi).
Mahō Tenshi Majikaru Riryi(魔法天使 マジカルリリィ) - Magic Angel Magical Lily. Anime character from a magical girl series that stopped airing 22 years ago. Momoyo, Akane, and Miwako were all fans of the series.

We get to hear a catchy but slightly cruel short tune by the Trio the Sōichi(トリオ・ザ・捜一).

Sergeant Itami: Minohodoshirazu ni bachi ataru(身の程知らずに罰当たる) - Someone who bit off more than he could chew gets punished by divine retribution.
Lieutenant Miura: Shinkon sōsō tatarareta(新婚早々祟られた) - I was cursed shortly after getting married.

Later, he went to work at Kumiko's cafe. His coworkers said that he was a very reticent man. He was on good terms with Itokawa and was there when Itokawa passed away.
A week after starting work at Kumiko's cafe, he broke into the former Itokawa residence, walked around the mansion, and took apart a wall clock there. Shortly afterwards, he ran into the house's owner at the time, Amagi, and they got into a struggle. They hacked at each other with an ax and ended up killing each other. Tomita bled to death in that mansion at the age of 38. Because he was in a cult and a religious group while he was in college, the police suspected that those experiences might have been the reason Tomita killed Amagi.

The company held a simple funeral for him, and Tomita left the company shortly afterwards.
Makoto Amagi(天城 誠) - Cultist who wrote the controversial best-selling book The Devil's Ritual Manual(悪魔の儀式書 Akuma no gishiki-sho). He bought the Itokawa residence after Itokawa Kōsan(糸川興産) went bankrupt. He died last year after getting into a fight with Tomita who broke into the house. Makoto used an axe to attack Tomita, and Makoto hit Tomita first, but Tomita was able to wrest the ax away and deal a killing blow of his own to Makoto before Tomita bled to death.
