 Someone strangled the leader of a popular rock band, Shōhei Tanno(丹野 翔平), with the fifth string of a guitar. From Kenji Mihara(三原 研治) the band manager, Inspector Ukyō and Sergeant Kaoru find out that Shōhei recently started going out with a new girlfriend, Natsuki Kasai(笠井 夏生). When they find Natsuki, she immediately confesses to the murder and produces the guitar string used to commit the murder. Did Natsuki really kill her famous boyfriend?

Note

The song "The Throbbing of This Chest(この胸の高鳴りを Kono Mune No Takanari Wo)," or rather, the part of the song recorded for the episode was written specifically for this episode. This song has not been released in CD form nor are there plans to release this song.

Characters appearing/mentioned in the story

Natsuki Kasai(笠井 夏生) - College student and Shōhei's latest girlfriend.

She heard the Dee Providence's debut song "The Throbbing of This Chest" about a month ago, and she attended the band's concert with her friend a short time afterwards. After the concert, she ran into Shōhei by chance, and they started going out after that day.

She says that she impulsively killed Shōhei after finding out that he had many girlfriends, and he was just fooling around with her. After she killed him, she wandered around aimlessly before walking back to her home where she ran into the Tokumeigakari pair.

No skin was found on the string Natsuki claimed was used in the murder - in fact, it had been wiped clean. Shōhei's residence's door was also locked, casting doubt on Natsuki's claim that she impulsively killed Shōhei.

She had been bedridden her entire life until she received Daijirō's heart last year.

Shōhei Tan'no(丹野 翔平) - 27 year old leader of the rock band Dee Providence, which is popular among young women. He was a member of a small band until last year when he joined Jeremy Music Entertainment and formed the band Dee Providence. The band made their debut with the song "The Throbbing of This Chest(この胸の高鳴りを Kono Mune No Takanari Wo)."

Before he met Natsuki, he had many girlfriends, but he cut off his relationships with all the other women after he started going out with Natsuki,

Shortly before he was murdered, he was seen arguing with a young woman.

Emoto(柄本) - Dee Providence band member.

Kōda(甲田) - Dee Providence band member.

Kenji Mihara(三原 研治) - Works at Jeremy Music Entertainment as Dee Providence's manager and their ghost composer.

Yagi(八木) - President and producer at Jeremy Music Entertainment.

Daijirō Fukuchi(福地 大二郎) - 24 year old guitarist who committed suicide last fall shortly after Shōhei Tan'no(丹野 翔平) left the band. In his room, he had a music score of a song similar to Dee Providence's debut song "The Throbbing of This Chest(この胸の高鳴りを Kono Mune No Takanari Wo)." He was an organ donor, and his heart now beats inside Natsuki.

Teruyo Fukuchi(福地 照代) - Daijirō's mother.

Kanako Soejima(添島 可奈子) - Daijirō's girlfriend. She confirms that Daijirō composed the song "The Throbbing of This Chest(この胸の高鳴りを Kono Mune No Takanari Wo)."

She found out through Internet sleuthing that Natsuki received Daijirō's heart. She befriended Natsuki and was happy when she found out that Daijirō continued to live on in Natsuki, but was dismayed when Natsuki started going out with Shōhei. To end the relationship, Kanako told Natsuki about what Shōhei did, but Natsuki decided to continue seeing Shōhei. On the night Shōhei was murdered she went to Shōhei to make him end his relationship with Natsuki.

Naomi(奈緒美) - Model and one of Shōhei's former girlfriends. Shōhei broke up with her and told her that he had secretly bought an engagement ring for Natsuki.
