Subtitle: Murderous Piano(殺しのピアノ)
Norio Kōda(幸田 紀夫), a highly-regarded piano tuner, murders the famous pianist Kōtarō Shiba(柴 耕太郎) at a recital hall in the middle of the night. He manages to sneak Shiba's body out of the recital hall and drop it off a cliff near the pianist's home unnoticed. Can the Tokumegakari pair look past the deception and catch the piano tuner? Why did Kōda kill Shiba?
Location
Takizawa Sho(滝沢署) - Takizawa Station, location of the investigation headquarters(捜査本部 sōsa honbu) for this case.
Takayama Roiyaru Hōru(高山ロイヤルホール) - Takayama Royal Hall. Kōtarō Shiba, A long-established concert hall where Kohtaro Shiba(柴 耕太郎) was scheduled to hold his next concert. The pianist was killed in the recital hall where he would have played.
Characters appearing/mentioned in the story
Norio Kōda(幸田 紀夫) - A highly-regarded piano tuner who killed Kōtarō Shiba(柴 耕太郎). He was in the middle of a trial period that was to determine whether he would become the exclusive tuner at Takayama Royal Hall. He lies and tells the Tokumeigakari pair that he was tuning the piano from 12 AM to 4 AM the night Shiba was murdered.
He is known for tuning the piano alone to avoid auditory distractions.
Kōtarō Shiba, Kohtaro Shiba(柴 耕太郎) - The famous pianist who was murdered by Norio Kōda(幸田 紀夫). He talked to his wife shortly before he was murdered, but his cellphone wasn't recovered with his body.
Etsuko Shiba(柴 悦子) - Kōtarō's wife and manager. She showed little emotion after hearing that her husband had died.
Takumi Iwatsuki(岩槻 巧) - The manager of Takayama Royal Hall(高山ロイヤルホール).
Yūka Mochidzuki(望月裕香) - The replacement pianist for Kohtaro Shiba(柴 耕太郎) who offered to perform at memorial concerts for Shiba.
