 Accounting clerk Akio Kinoshita(木下 昭夫) and a female employee Imai(今井) are on their way to deposit 30.2 million yen(３０２０万円 3020 Man-en) for their employer when they are assaulted and robbed by three masked men. The Soichi turn their attention to Kaoru Hazama(狭間 薫), an employee who comes in late and can't remember what he did the day before. Can Inspector Ukyō and Sergeant Kaoru help Kaoru's regain his memories by retracing steps he took the previous day and determine what happened?

Locations

Pietoro(ピエトロ) - Pietro, the restaurant where Hazama talked and ate with Udagawa. The waitress working there spilled corn pottage onto Hazama's bag. She says that Hazama's friend spoke with a Kansai dialect.

Wakeari Sō(訳あり荘) - The nickname for a rundown apartment called Maison Champs Elysees‎(シャンゼリゼ Mezon Do Shanzerize). Naoto Udagawa(宇田川 直人) currently lives here.

Suginami(杉並) -  A special ward in Tokyo, Japan.

Zenpukuji-Eki(善福寺駅) - Zenpukuji Station, a train station in Suginami. Lockers installed in this station are made by Yoshida Lockers(吉田ロッカー Yoshida Rokkā). Hazama's unknown key fit one of the lockers here. A grocery bag holding five million yen(五百万円 go hyaku man en) was found inside.

Wakabayashi(若林) - Manager/director of the company.

Hajime Hazama(狭間 薫) - Employee who can't remember what he did the day before. As a result, he is suspected of corroborating with the robbers. When he woke up, he was in his work clothes with a missing button instead of his pajamas. There was a cut in his mouth. His bag had a tasty-smelling stain. He also had a ticket to a haiku exhibition, key to a coin locker, and a knife in his possession.

Yasue Kawamoto(川本 康江) - Hazama's coworker and love interest who takes the same bus to work. Hazama introduced her to Kokubu shortly after she joined the company at Kokubu's request.

Naoto Udagawa(宇田川 直人) - Hazama's former colleague who joined the company around the same time. Udagawa was Hazama's close friend, though they lost touch after Udagawa left the company 3 years ago to start his own company. Hazama ran into him in front of the restaurant Pietro. They ended up eating and talking there for a long time. He lives in room 105 at Maison Champs Elysees‎(シャンゼリゼ Mezon Do Shanzerize). Ten million yen(一千万円  issen man en) in cash was discovered in his room, and he ran when he saw Hazama and the Tokumeigakari pair at his room.

Akio Kinoshita(木下 昭夫) - Left-handed accounting clerk who was attacked on his way to the bank. He drew a portrait of the masked man who attacked him.

Shinya Kokubu(国分 信也) - Udagawa's sempai from Kansai who was fired for using company money for personal reasons. He is the brains behind the robbery but later died after he was stabbed four times in the abdomen.

Imai(今井) - Female employee who was attacked by the robbers.
