Aibou TV Season 4 Episode 19 - Unlucky Woman(ついてない女)

 Sachiko, who calls herself an unlucky woman, tries to change her luck by first shooting her bōryokudan lover Shigeru and hiding his body before trying to flee Japan. Unfortunately for Sachiko, she continues to be unlucky - her car breaks down on the way to the airport, and the men who happen to stop to help her turns out to be none other than..., you guessed it. our heroes the Tokumeigakari pair. Uncomfortable after finding out that the good Samaritans are policemen, she asks them to drop her off nearby in Shinjuku, saying that she'll take the limousine bus to Narita Airport from there. During the short time Sachiko spent with them, Inspector Ukyō had sensed that something is not right with Sachiko and the planned vacation to France. Will he be able to put all the pieces together and stop Sachiko before she leaves the country?

Characters appearing/mentioned in the story

Sachiko Tsukimoto(月本 幸子) - This is the first time we see Sachiko. Her husband, a judicial scrivener, died one year ago today, ended up mired in debt, became sick, and became Mukōjima's lover. She recently found out that Mukōjima killed her husband after overhearing Tamura. She plans to kill Mukōjima, get on a plane to Hong Kong leaving at 7:40 PM, pick up fake a Chinese passport from Edi Yō(エディ・ヨー), then go to a rural village in France and live there. After a short struggle, she shoots Mukōjima and is on her way to Narita Airport when her foreign-made car overheats. Someone stops to help her, and that that someone turns out to be the Tokumeigakari pair.

Inspector Ukyō notices and worries about several things about Sachiko. First, her car is parked in a no parking zone. She responds that she contacted a family member to pick it up, but no one ever comes to pick it up. Second, she is wearing a jacket that does not fit the rest of the fashionable clothes she's wearing. Uncomfortable with Inspector Ukyō's questions, she asks them to drop her off in Shinjuku(新宿Shinjku).

After Sachiko is by herself, she buys a coat that matches the rest of her clothes and leaves the jacket at the bus stop before getting on to the limousine bus headed to Narita. Just after the bus starts moving, Inspector Ukyō rushes up to the bus and sits next to Sachiko, handing her the jacket she just left behind. The bus continues on its way to the airport, and Sachiko is now stuck with an unwanted companion the rest of her trip to the airport. Inspector Ukyō continues asking her prying questions, and she responds by giving a mix of truths and lies. She gives the inspector a fake name and claims that she is Youko Tanaka(タナカ ヨウコ). She also says that she'll stay in Provence once she gets to France, spending three nights there.

While Inspector Ukyō sits next to Sachiko, Sergeant Kaoru does the legwork, running and driving around looking for clues reporting what he finds to the inspector through cellphone communication. From the license plate Sachiko left behind, they determine that the car is registered to Sachiko Tsukimoto. Sachiko claims that "Sachiko" is her friend who owned the car before she bought it, and she had not changed the car's registration information. The Sergeant then finds out that Sachiko called the apartment manager and told him that she's leaving the apartment, asking him to get rid of the furniture and clothing left there in any way he sees fit.

The Inspector then asks Sachiko why she's dropping by Hong Kong on the way to France. He explains that the only international flight leaving Narita at that time at 7:40 PM flies to Hong Kong, not France. Sachiko replies that she also wants to sightsee Hong Kong this trip. Not wanting to answer any more questions, she tells the inspector that she wants to get some sleep.

Inspector Ukyō takes this opportunity to look at the jacket Sachiko left behind earlier. A label which reads "Real Suginami" is sewn inside the jacket.  The inspector also notices some white and brown hair along the neck partition of the jacket. Sergeant Kaoru emails Inspector Ukyō, saying that he can't track down the scene of the crime. Inspector Ukyō then tricks Sachiko into revealing that she is in fact Sachiko Tsukimoto and not Youko Tanaka. Sachiko admits that she didn't lied about her name, but only because she didn't want to give her real name to a stranger. Inspector Ukyō says that that is possible, but it is unusually bold for someone to give a fake name knowing that she is talking to a police officer. Sachiko then raises her voice and tells Inspector Ukyō that she gave a fake name because she found the inspector annoying.

Inspector Ukyō then reveals a part of his hand. He noticed a red stain on the hem of her pants. Sachiko insists that it's soy sauce, but it's not red enough. She says that she was cooking at home, but the Inspector refutes this too. If she had been cooking at home, she could have changed to another coat if the one she was wearing got stained. According to the inspector, the jacket probably was the only unisex article of clothing she found at the mans' house that she could wear without attracting attention. Since Sachiko isn't injured, the blood must have come from the man. Judging by the amount of blood on her pants, Inspector Ukyō is very worried about the fate of that man.

Sachiko reminds Inspector Ukyō that he cannot arrest her without an arrest warrant, but the inspector counters that if either the scene of the crime or a victim is discovered, there is reason to believe that Sachiko was involved, and if the situation is urgent, the Inspector has the right to restrain her. Sachiko then wishes Inspector Ukyō best of luck at finding the necessary evidence to restrain her.

Talking to the contact person for Club Real Suginami(レアル・スギナミ Rearu suginami), Sergeant Kaoru finds out that the club has 67 members, living in different areas of Tokyo. Using that list, he calls everyone on the list one by one to find out which members won't or can't answer his call.

By this time, the Sōichi starts to investigate, and they realize that Sachiko is the wife of the judicial scrivener who mysteriously died an year ago. The judicial scrivener had dealings with Jōdai Financial(城大金融), and the Sōsa ni-ka(捜査二課) was about to arrest him for forging official documents when he died. CSI Yonezawa relays this information to Sergeant Kaoru, who realizes that Sachiko must have killed a Jōdai Financial(城大金融) member out of revenge.

Sergeant Kaoru tells CSI Yonezawa that the Life Safety Division should have the list of all the Jōdai Financial(城大金融) members. Comparing that list to the list of Real Suginami members who didn't pick up the phone, they determine that the bleeding man must be Shigeru Mukōjima(向島 茂). However, Superintendent Kakuta realizes that Mukōjima's address listed in the Real Suginami roster is fake.

Back on the bus, Inspector Ukyō tells Sachiko that that they figured out that the bleeding man must be Shigeru Mukōjima(向島 茂) and asks her to give herself up. Sachiko instead tells him her sad life story and all the bad luck she's had so far in her life. She never grabbed an omikuji with excellent luck in her life before, usually getting bad luck and only rarely pulling minor good omikujis. She was looking forward to a school field trip in junior high school but was hospitalized with appendicitis on that day. In high school, she went on her first date to the beach, but she nearly died after being swallowed by a wave. On the day she took her college entrance examination, her house burned down. When she came back from her honeymoon, a thief had broken into their home. She tells Inspector Ukyō that she will get on that plane and restart her life fresh no matter what happens.

As the bus nears Narita Airport, Inspector Ukyō then tells Sergeant Kaoru a clever way to get Jōdai Financial(城大金融) to show him Shigeru Mukōjima(向島 茂)'s residence. What the Sergeant finds there surprises him...

Shigeru Mukōjima(向島 茂) - A big shot(senior managing director) at Jōdai Financial(城大金融).

Tamura(田村) - Jōdai Financial employee.

Edi Yō(エディ・ヨー) - The man who was supposed to give Sachiko her fake passports in Hong Kong. He was arrested the morning Sachiko was going to leave for Hong Kong.

Yasushi Nito(仁藤 康) - Representative for Real Suginami(リアル杉並) grass soccer club, a car dealer.

Asano(浅野) - A member of the Real Suginami grass soccer club.

Tsutomu Chikada(近田勉) - A member of the Real Suginami grass soccer club.

Hideo Nakahara(中原 秀雄) - A member of the Real Suginami grass soccer club. Sergeant Kaoru climbed the stairs all the way up to the eighth floor to confirm that he is alive.

Eiji Kinoshita(木下 英司) - A member of the Real Suginami grass soccer club who did not pick up the phone.

Hitoshi Tokashiki(渡嘉敷 仁) - A member of the Real Suginami grass soccer club who did not pick up the phone.

Kiyoshi Fujita(藤田 清) - A member of the Real Suginami grass soccer club who did not pick up the phone.

Okabe(岡部) - One of the Jōdai Financial(城大金融) executives. He answered Sergeant Kaoru's questions when the sergeant made is way into their office.

Organization

Jōdai Financial(城大金融) - Until ten years ago, they operated as a gang. Now, they are a shady money-lending organization. About an year ago, the Sōsa ni-ka(捜査二課) members were investigating Sachiko's husband, who worked with Jōdai Financial(城大金融), for forging an official document when he disappeared.
